Job Summary:
Altair is seeking a Software Developer to support our OptiStruct product. OptiStruct is an industry proven, modern structural analysis solver for linear and nonlinear problems under static and dynamic loadings. It is the market-leading solution for structural design and optimization.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, improve and maintain many general aspects of the OptiStruct code, including but not limited to:
- in-core and out-of-core database management
- data structures and APIs development
- error and exception handling
- Assess and optimize code performance, applying parallelization techniques when appropriate.
- Implement development tools and utilities such as automated QA, automated build system, etc.
- Develop preprocessing and postprocessing support for various analysis and optimization capabilities.
- Develop interfaces with third-party software according to specifications and requirements.
- Debug the code whenever necessary and address defects quickly.
- Introduce QA problems for testing features.
- Work closely with others in the team to complete major tasks.
- Meet project requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
- Minimum education required: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical/aerospace/civil) or Computer Science.
- Programming experience in Fortran or C/C++
- Basic knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) is desirable but not required.
Preferred:
- Master preferred.
